In the story
Luda Mae links the prequel’s family history to the household seen in the remake. Her role provides a maternal and domestic framework around the family’s violence.
Continuity matters
A prequel to the 2003 remake. Its origin story concerns Thomas Hewitt and the remake family, not the teenage Sawyer story told in Leatherface (2017).
