Story spoilers
In the story
Eric is one of the brothers traveling through Texas in the Vietnam-era setting. His relationship with Dean gives the group’s journey a conflict that exists before the Hewitts intervene.
Continuity matters
A prequel to the 2003 remake. Its origin story concerns Thomas Hewitt and the remake family, not the teenage Sawyer story told in Leatherface (2017).
