Pepper travels with the group and becomes caught in the same search for assistance. Her role belongs to the remake’s new ensemble rather than a one-to-one reproduction of an original-film character.
Continuity matters
A remake, not a sequel to the original film’s events. The 2006 film is its prequel; Thomas Hewitt belongs to this continuity rather than being a universal name for every Leatherface.
