Monty is part of the family encountered at the house. The Beginning revisits him earlier in the Hewitt chronology and supplies context for aspects of his appearance in the remake.
Continuity matters
A remake, not a sequel to the original film’s events. The 2006 film is its prequel; Thomas Hewitt belongs to this continuity rather than being a universal name for every Leatherface.
