In the story
The truck driver appears during Erin’s attempts to leave the area. His role tests whether movement on the road can provide safety when the family’s influence extends to familiar roadside stops.
Continuity matters
A remake, not a sequel to the original film’s events. The 2006 film is its prequel; Thomas Hewitt belongs to this continuity rather than being a universal name for every Leatherface.
