In the story
Benny is a survivalist whose encounter with the travelers leads him into their fight. His practical resistance changes the balance of a story otherwise built around an isolated couple and a family controlling the landscape.
Continuity matters
Marketed as the third installment, but its family configuration and references do not form a seamless continuation of the second film. Release order is clearer than a single literal family timeline.
