Original co-writer Kim Henkel wrote and directed this entry, with Renée Zellweger as Jenny, Matthew McConaughey as Vilmer, and Robert Jacks as Leatherface. Levie Isaacks photographed the film and Sandra Adair edited it.
The production is closely associated with the Austin filmmaking community. Its significance is not limited to the later fame of two leads: the crew interviews on the Scream Factory release offer separate accounts of photography, effects, and performance.
Marilyn Burns, Paul A. Partain, and John Dugan also appear in small roles. Their presence creates a connection for viewers familiar with the original cast, but an actor’s return should not automatically be interpreted as the return of the same fictional character.
