Participant memoirs, making-of books, and licensed comics offer different ways into the franchise.
A participant’s account
Gunnar Hansen’s Chain Saw Confidential is a major book-length account associated with the original production. A participant memoir gives a valuable perspective, but it remains one account to compare with other crew recollections and documents. The linked book records identify the publication; this archive does not reproduce the text.
A forthcoming making-of volume
The publisher’s listing for John Walsh’s The Texas Chain Saw Massacre: The Official Making of the Cult Classic is catalogued as a forthcoming publication in this research set. Treat its release information as a publisher announcement, not evidence that the archive has read the completed book. Check the publisher for current availability.
Licensed comics
The DC/WildStorm collection provides an official entry point into a comic-book extension of the property. Comics deserve their own continuity and publication notes: an event in a licensed story should not silently become a fact in a film’s plot summary. Publisher records also help separate a collected edition from its original individual issues.
