The route from Austin
From Austin, the traditional route to the cemetery follows Highway 183 north into Leander before turning west toward Bagdad Road. The cemetery remains one of the most recognizable public locations connected to the original production.
Visitors should remember that this is an active historic cemetery. Treat the grounds, markers, families, and other visitors with care.

Opening the film
The cemetery establishes the film’s documentary tone before the young travelers ever reach Quick Hill. Reports of opened graves and a grotesque display introduce a landscape where familiar rural places have become deeply wrong.
